So it's dead week, meaning next week is finals and then I'm finally free from this hell hole college for a few months! Woot!8D I'm very excited about switching my major from Information Technology to Digital Media. Programming's okay, but I'm not crazy about it, and I'd rather do what I want to do instead of what my mom thinks I SHOULD do. I gave it a shot and didn't like it, so I'm going into what I want. After all, I'd rather be making less money doing something that I love instead of making more money doing something that I'm unhappy with. What's even cooler is that even though Digital Media is a four year degree, with all the classes I've taken in four years of college already, I only have two years worth of classes left to complete Digital Media!^o^ I got all of my bullshit classes out of the way save for two (which I'm taking one of them next semester and will eventually take pre-calc one summer), so that leaves only the Digital Media classes themselves and the three classes I have left to complete my art minor (of which yet again I'm getting two of them out of the way next semester, which will leave me with just one more to worry about, which I'm saving for a comic illustration course that they offer in the summer). I'm not taking summer classes this year 'cuz I need a break where I'm so burnt out, but next year I'll start taking summer classes for anything I need to get out of the way so I can get done faster. I'm much happier with the path I've chosen and school in-general. While I still think ETSU is a joke and a highly overrated school that cares more about its money and image than its students and still hate their bullshit policies and stupid politics, I'm much happier here now. I think half of my stress came from living in the Lucifer dorm and being in a major that I wasn't happy with. I feel more content now that I'm in Digital Media and living in the Buccaneer Ridge apartments on the hill behind the college; it's much more quiet and peaceful.

While I'm thinking of it, I made a couple new friends here who are also on DA: and . They're really cool girls and I'm excited that I've met some new people who share similar interests with me. I'm very shy when it comes to making friends and rarely do I make them, so college has helped me come out of my shell a little more when it comes to talking to people.

So far this week the world is on the verge of a zombie outbreak. Yes, you heard me: zombies. According to "The Zombie Survival Guide", new and mysterious deadly strains of the flu and other illnesses are the first sign of a zombie apocalypse, especially when they pop up in Mexico and major U.S. cities. I encourage everyone to keep a chainsaw and/or axe handy to chop up your stairs to keep zombies from reaching the upper level of your houses and find a way to your roof and devise a battle plan. Guns are nice, but they're loud and will draw the attention of more zombies, so bows and arrows are really better: they're quiet and you can reuse the arrows. Folks, be prepared to live all Resident Evil-like if this happens, and please take your vitamins, make sure your flu-shots are up to date, and step up your hygene routine.

Secondly, a music producer popped out of nowhere and wants to give my boyfriend's band a listen to and maybe sign them and have them tour. He didn't show up at their acoustic show last night like he said he was going to (he sounded like he had been alseep when Tommy called him, so he doesn't seem that reliable), but another producer was there and liked Broken Circle, so he wants to record them and gave them his business card. It's the other dude's loss. You snooze, you lose!XD

Thirdly, Mom's getting married.


.........Yeah. I thought she was drunk or high or something when she sent me that text message last night, but she's engaged to Alan, a guy who has been a family friend for 20 years. I seriously thought she was just screwing with me, but she's dead serious. It's very unexpected. It still hasn't completely sunk in yet and I don't know what to make of it. I'm not pissed or anything, it just came out of left field and blind-sided me. I have a hard time picturing Alan as my new step-dad. They're gonna wait three months to make sure it works before they actually set a wedding date. He's gonna move in with us and sleep in one of the guest rooms and pay rent until they actually get married, then he'll move into Mom's room with her. Mom's a hard-core Puritan when it comes to not sleeping with someone when you're not married (of course she probably doesn't believe that there's such thing as being able to sleep with someone and not have sex; the keyword in that sentence is "sleep" after all). They sold insurance together for years and they've dated off and on before, but it's always been back and forth with them, so it's very odd. Apparently he's not as clingy as he used to be, so Mom's more comfortable with him now. She said she dumped him because he kept proposing to her before and she was afraid of commitment because her past two marriages were disasters and she was afraid. If that's the case, then I should be smacking myself for not realizing that's what her problem was before. I'm happy for her, but I still have a hard time comprehending this.:/ At least my brother and I won't be stressing over college money as much or worry about losing the house. Thankfully Alan's not a violent drunk like Dad nor will he walk out on us and run off with a she-man chick with a moustache like my piece of shit ex-stepdad. Mom couldn't find anyone who would treat us better.

Yeah, it's been very WTF-ish lately.

.........I need to get a new DA sub and renew my subscription to Gothic Beauty Magazine, maybe even start getting Just About Horses Magazine from Breyer again (oh, how I wish I'd never let my sub expire for that one years ago!). I'll get to that this weekend.;;>_______> I might go to Breyerfest again this year with my friend Amanda 'cuz I'm still a nerd when it comes to model horses, but at the same time I just want to chill out this summer, but if I don't go I'll probably regret it, and I really want a Kuchi model and find an Atlantis Bey V for $25 like I did last year and failed to get.;^; I need to decide on it by this weekend, though. I might even drag Chris to it.XD

I'm very excited about summer! I'm feeling better about it than winter break, so I'll definitely be getting some artwork done. I really want to work on my character designs and further better my anatomy (who doesnt?XD). First I need to get some commissions done.
